Created by Sounds journalist Geoff Barton to celebrate and exploit The New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Kerrang grew to be the absolute bible for all things metal, hard rock and beyond, taking their young readers by the sweaty hand (towelling sweat bands not withstanding) into power chord and widdly widdly guitar solo heaven, via the glossy, beer soaked annals of this massively popular rock mag cum website.
A true cultural hub for the tribe all the other eighties yoof cults were sniffy about – Metallers! Get that rawk patch festooned cut off denim jacket outta mothballs, try them old Spandex strides on for size, and let yer locks run wild. It’s Very Metal in The Dublin tonight.
Support ‘Shiversa‘ are a new Southampton based Hard Rock/Alt Metal band, drawing influences from Deftones/Alice In Chains and Skunk Anansie. Launched in the Summer of 2024, we released our debut single ‘Recess Divide’ which has been featured on BBC Introducing, Wild Dogs Radio, Total Rock Radio, Radio Wigwam and Voice FM.
